SGM706是一款集成了微處理器的監控器件，與使用單個IC或分立元件的設計相比，這種集成設計具有提高系統穩定性和準確性的優勢。SGM706可以在上電、掉電甚至降壓掉電情況下復位，當VCC低至1V時，復位輸出仍能工作，并且還具有低電平有效手動復位（MR）功能。
SGM706提供獨立的看門狗監控電路，當其電源輸入超過1.6s沒有切換時，可以激活此功能。
當電源故障、電池電量低或需要監控額外電源時，可以通過SGM706的1.25V閾值檢測器實現。
SGM706采用綠色SOIC-8封裝。SGM706-S采用綠色SOIC-8和MSOP-8封裝。它們的工作環境溫度范圍為 -40℃ 至 +85℃。
